As someone currently elbow-deep in planning my own wedding, I wanted something different for my girls. Something that felt as special as the moment itself. So I started tying - literally - until the wrap became the whole point. No box. No bag. Just flowing satin, finished with a hand-tied rose knot that turns a gift into a moment worth screenshotting.
We're proudly South Africa's first satin-wrap bridal gifting brand, and Every wrap is still hand-tied by the bride herself — one knot, one moment, one story at a time.
My Story
I'm Tash. On weekends, I trade my weekday job for a camera bag and second-shoot weddings alongside my partner Tyler — he's the real wedding videographer, I just get to tag along and watch the magic happen. It's given me the best seat in the house for some of the most beautiful, unscripted moments of someone's wedding day, and watching bridesmaids open their gift from the bride still gets me every single time..
I'd also had this itch to start something of my own in ecommerce for years, but nothing ever felt like the idea. Then one night, deep in a rabbit hole of packaging videos (we've all been there), I saw one that stopped my scroll completely — a gorgeous satin wrap, finished with a hand-tied knot. I sat there thinking, okay, where can I get this in South Africa? Turns out... nowhere. So if it didn't exist yet, I figured I'd just have to make it myself.
Add in the fact that Tyler and I have been talking more seriously about our own future together lately, and it all just clicked. The Satin Knot was born — built around that one unforgettable detail, designed to turn a gift into a moment worth pausing for.
